Yaz, is a birth control pill that contains both drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol. The pill was developed by Berlex Laboratories, and is now being manufactured Bayer Pharmaceuticals. Yaz is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women who elect to use an oral contraceptive. Yaz is also indicated for the treatment of symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in women who choose to use an oral contraceptive as their method of contraception.
Yaz Side Effects
Over the past five years there have been over 50 deaths reported to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) of women who were taking these prescription drugs. The most common side effects associated with Yaz include death, heart attack, cardiac arrhythmia, stroke, pulmonary embolism, kidney failure, gallbladder infection and removal, blood clots and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The FDA has issued warnings about these drugs in 2003, 2008 and 2009.
